What To Watch This Weekend: Games Done Quick, Counter-Strike, And Street Fighter II

Awesome Games Done Quick will have its finale today, but that still means we have hours and hours of speedruns left before the concluding Undertale speedrun. (Stream / Schedule)

In the world of eSports, the biggest tournament this weekend is the World Electronic Sports Games, which will be holding major tournaments for four competitive games, offering prize pools from $300,000 to $1.5 million. Later today marks the return of 2 Old 2 Furious, a tournament series highlight older Capcom fighting games like Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 2, and Street Fighter EX2 Alpha Plus. On Sunday, the King of Fighters XIV’s World Championship will be holding one of its first qualifying events in Peru. This will serve as the introduction of SNK’s attempts to build a pro circuit around the game (similar to the Capcom Pro Tour), so it should be interesting watch.
