Update: If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. In response to the original post, Reddit user Lawaleeth010101 makes some compelling arguments for why the situation may not be the innocent result of a glitch, but rather a deliberate effort to hack the Wii U version of the game. However, even if it’s not legit in the end, the prospect of taking down the final boss in one hit is still satisfying.
In The Legend of Zelda series, the Master Sword is a powerful weapon wielded by a legendary hero. However, that ancient blade pales in comparison to a new sword one player received thanks to an unexpected glitch.
In this Reddit thread, user Eastonator12 shows how a crash resulted in a peculiar weapon – a Lynel sword with an attack value high enough to defeat any enemy in the game (including the last one) in a single hit.
If you want to see the sword one-shot the final boss (and don’t mind SPOILERS), you can do that here.
This is one time that cursing the game’s breakable weapon system is justified; losing a sword that powerful has got to sting, even if it wasn’t supposed to exist in the first place.
